Materya 2026: Composit Redefines Kitchen Luxury Through Lightness

From morning coffee to dinner with family, the kitchen is more than a place for cooking. As it becomes increasingly connected to dining and living spaces, its materials, proportions and functionality help shape the atmosphere of the home.

Designed by Jamie Rezaie, Materya by Composit brings together soft curves, natural materials and adaptable functionality. The 2026 composition explores “The Lightness of Nature”, pairing warm wood veneer with light-toned, travertine-effect porcelain and considered details to create a kitchen that feels calm, tactile and naturally refined.

A Softer Material Palette

The same travertine-effect porcelain is used for the worktop, selected cabinet fronts and splashback. Its light tone and natural stone texture create continuity across the kitchen, while balancing the warmth of the wood veneer.

Oak veneer in Sand brings warmth to the cabinet fronts and open shelving around the breakfast area. Its natural grain adds texture and contrast alongside the light-toned travertine-effect porcelain, while helping the kitchen feel warm and inviting.

Biotite Crystal Lacquer introduces a subtle shimmer through fine glass particles that gently catch the light. Used around the extractor hood, it creates a refined focal point while remaining in harmony with the softer finishes throughout the kitchen.

Together, these materials create a balance of warmth, texture and light. Their appearance also shifts naturally with daylight, allowing the kitchen to feel subtly different throughout the day.

Curves Considered from Every Angle

The side panels curve with a radius of 75 mm, softening the transition from the front to the sides. This detail gives its substantial form a gentler outline.

In an open-plan home, the side of an island is often visible from the dining table or sofa. Finishing these edges with care helps the kitchen feel equally considered from the living area and the cooking space.

The curved outline can also complement rounded chairs, a dining table or pendant lights. Shared colours and textures help connect these elements, while the island’s overall proportions should leave comfortable room for movement.

Practical Features for Changing Routines

A sliding breakfast table provides space for a light meal or a short coffee break, then slides to close when no longer needed. The island can therefore accommodate food preparation and informal seating at different times of day.

The sliding splashback opens to reveal storage behind the worktop. The featured configuration includes a sensor-controlled electric mechanism, integrated lighting and finished interior surfaces. These details make everyday items easier to reach, while the closed panel keeps the kitchen looking orderly.

Inside the drawers, regenerated leather lining adds a tactile finish to surfaces used throughout the day. It extends the attention given to the exterior into the kitchen’s storage, where smaller details become part of the daily experience.

Personalised Around Your Home

Customisation begins with an understanding of your household: how many people use the kitchen, how often you cook, which appliances you need and what you store. These priorities help determine the layout, dimensions and material choices, within the collection’s available options and the requirements of your project.

If you choose a sliding breakfast table, allow for its extended position, chairs and circulation around the island. Electrical connections and controls should be planned early, with access for maintenance considered alongside everyday operation.

When these decisions reflect the way you live, Materya’s luxury becomes tangible in comfortable proportions, well-placed storage and surfaces that feel at home in their surroundings.

Crystal Home Tip:

Place material samples beside your flooring and dining furniture, then view them in daylight and under evening lighting. This helps you assess the warmth of the oak, the porcelain pattern and the lacquer’s shimmer together.
